Timeline

Q2 2022

Team

1 Designer
1 Product Manager

Background

Sellers currently have the ability to place orders on behalf of their buyers however, there is no way for a buyer to review, edit, or reject the order. While this may sound slightly alarming it’s often because buyers are very busy and find it easier for a Sales Rep to place an order on their behalf.

Goals

  1. Increase usage of the platform on the buyer side.

  2. Enable sellers and buyers to collaborate on placing an order so we can eliminate off-platform communication.

  3. In the end, the buyer will have the final say on what’s placed.

How it works

Buyer side

Buyers can then review, edit, and approve an order before it is submitted, empowering both parties to unify communication about the order directly within LeafLink, without having to resort to offline channels.

Seller side

A seller creates an order manually and sends it to a buyer for review.

PROTOTYPE

Start from the seller side and submit the order for Buyer Review. Then follow the pink annotations for the next steps.

Release dates / results

Target Dates:

  • June 2022 - Pilot (OR & AZ)

  • Nov 2022 - Full release (All markets)

Pilot results:

  • Good

    • Like the ability to remove items or reject an order

  • Not so good

    • “Buyers are too busy/not tech-savvy” - Sellers are unsure if Buyers will use this

    • Want the ability to add items to the order and add order/product notes

    • Only 1 buyer, of all the Buyers we spoke to, said they probably wouldn't use this because they their sellers never place orders for them.
